Africa 2014

If 2012 is not the right year for you to undertake an expedition, I am hoping to continue the 2 year cycle, and run another expedition in 2014.
This is a long, long way away yet. However, I know that people are visiting the website now, looking for an expedition for years to come.

Anything below can change, and there's no guarantee that I can run an expedition in 2014, but, we will try.

Country : Somewhere in the South Africa area.
Activities : Probably some major Community Project (such as building a school), followed by adventure activities and a safari.
Expedition Timing : Probably 4 weeks in the School Summer Holidays in 2014
Leader Application Period : Probably around Sept / Oct 2012
Team Application Period : Probably around Nov / Dec 2012
Application Area : Applications from across the UK are welcomed, however, all meetings and trainings will be around Hampshire / Surrey.
What else : As 2008 / 2010 / 2012, this will be a 100% alcohol free expedition for ALL members and leaders. You will need to be a member of the Scout or Guide Association, and be able to work with a widely dispersed team.
Likely Cost : Probably around £2,200 - £2,300, plus help in raising the £20,000 project funds, plus Vaccinations and Anti-Malarial tablets

Requirements for being a Team Member

1. Be aged between 14th and 20th birthdays as of 1st August 2014 (born between 02/08/1994 and 01/08/2000 inclusive).

Requirements for being a Leader

1. Be aged between 24th and 55th birthdays as of 1st August 2014 (born between 02/08/1959 and 01/08/1990 inclusive).
2. Be able to help plan, organise and run an expedition of this nature.
